1. YouGlish
Hello guys, meet again on my blog, this time I want to review an application that I used some time ago, namely YouGlish.
YouGlish is a platform for learning the correct pronunciation of words by listening to video sources from YouTube quickly and easily. This application is a tool for learning English effectively. YouGlish helps me as an English learner, because I can learn how to pronounce a word and also the differences between English words which are almost the same in pronunciation as knew and new.
In the past few days I've been using YouGlish, I like this app because it can help me search by word, word class, phrase, or context. In YouGlish, there are some interesting features that make me like this application. First, in YouGlish there are tips on how to improve English pronunciation which are written under the video, the words we are looking for are written under the video so that when the video is played we don't feel confused about listening to the spoken sentence, the video can be sped up and slowed, the video can be repeated, there are phonetics as well as suggestions of other words.
Behind those interesting features, there is one feature that I don't like, namely the IPA section of the phonetic label, because there are reading letters that make it possible for other people who don't previously understand to feel confused. What letter is that? Is there a letter in English like that? How do I read it? Surely people who previously didn't understand would be wondering.
There are advantages that we can get, namely that we can improve our pronunciation of English vocabulary, we often use this application to make our tongue accustomed to pronouncing sentences in English, in the latest YouGlish versions there are also examples of pronunciation in other languages such as language UK, Australian language, and others so that we can learn many languages, which are presented with more than 1 video so that we can listen more in pronunciation, and we can get tips from YouGlish itself. However, behind that advantage there is drawback in this application, there is no means for us to try to pronounce a word so we don't know whether the word we say is correct or not.
Besides, through the description above, I gave the YouGlish application a score of 9 and you can try this application on YouGlish.com. I use this application to feel challenged, including the video that is displayed, we are required to be able to pronounce it and also learn from the tips given so that it makes curiosity increase and then addicted to searching word for word.
Hopefully my blog is useful for you, always stay healthy and always implement 3M (Menjaga jarak, Mencuci tangan, dan Memakai masker) yes Guys.
Thank You J
